|   A pair of lovely paintings with flying angels was executed in the early 20th Century by listed Czech painter Oldøich Vlach (1886 - 1958). He was born 1886 in Prague. Painter in Prague. After study at the painting school by K. Reisner was a student of the Art School in Prague. Painted landscapes, genre works with children. His paintings were exhibited, for example, at a joint exhibition in 1989 at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague. Literature: Dr. P.Toman "Czech Artist lexicon", Praque, 1960. Inscription: both signed on the edge of the images. Technique: oil on canvas, laid down on cardboard. Original period gold-plated frames. Measurements: each oval image unframed w 10 3/4" x h 13" (27,3 x 33 cm), matted and framed w 18 3/4" x 15 3/4" (47,5 x 40 cm). Condition: in very original good condition. |
