Monumental seascape created in 1840 by listed French marine painter  Jules Guillaume Laurent Jubert . Painter of marines, pupil of Theodor Gudin , born in Orleans (Loiret), exhibited in Salon de Paris in 1837-1852, painted maritimes views by  Toulon, Iport, Gibraltar, England and Holland.

Inscription: signed and dated lower left "Jules Jubert, 1840 ", on the  reverse of stretcher - old stamp of canvas manufacture in Paris. 
Technique: painted in oval , oil on canvas , luxuriousy original period gold-plated salon frame . 
Measurements: image in oval : 33" x 22"  (84 x 56 cm), unframed 37" x 26 " (94 x 66 cm); framed w 48 3/4" x h 37 1/2 " (124 x 95 cm)
