Winter landscape in sunset with village and a monastery was executed in 1991 by listed  Soviet  landscape painter Valentin  Grigorjevich Poriadochnov (1936 - 1992). 
He studied at the Moscow High Art School ( previous Stroganov) , worked in the technique of oil painting, painted landscapes in the vicinity of Moscow. For exemple, it is known his work" Moscow Region. Skhodnya River“, dated 1986.  His works belongs to Soviet realism.

Paintings  by Poriadochov are in the private collections in Russia, USA, Great Britain, Germany and Netherlands.

His landscapes (oil on canvas) fetch approximately €3,600-4,000 on the Russian art market (auctions, galleries).

Inscription: signed in Russian and dated (19)91, lower right.

Technique: oil on canvas, hand-crafted wooden frame.

Measurements: unframed w 27 1/2" x h 19 2/3" ( 70 x 50 cm), framed 33 1/2" x 25 5/8" (85 x 65 cm).

Condition: very good.
