Unusual hunting scene : fight  for a hunting trophy between eagle and fox was executed in 1880  by famous Austrian painter Ferdinand Kuss (Kuess). The artist was born 1800 in Vienna , died 1886 in Pörtschach/Carinthia. The artist , which works situated in the best collection including Museum  of Prince Liechtenstein in Vienna , studied at the Viennese Fine Arts Academy by Sebastian Wegmayr , worked in Vienna , where was a member of the artist union "Kuenstlerhaus" and exhibited there his carefully painted flower,  fruit still lifes.

Inscription: signed and dated 1880 lower right.

Technique:  oil on canvas. Original period gold-plated frame.

Measurements: unframed w 39 3/4" x h 52 1/4" (101 x 132,2 cm), framed w 49 2/3" x h 63" (126 x 160 cm)

Condition: in good condition, original canvas.
