This dynamic scene with carriage race in the Viennese Krieau racecourse was executed in 1900s and was attributed due to the very close style, composition and creation period to the hand of famous Viennese horse painter and illustrator Carl Franz Bauer (1879-1954), who recieved in his time European acknowledge for his horse, carriage, sport paintings, watercolours and caricatures.
Inscription: unsigned inscribed lower left with names and pedigree of horses and lower right with the name of the horse owner Bes. ( Besitzer, in English: owner) Harry Godderidge. We found in on-line , that Harry Godderidge was co-owner of a textile factory in Sankt Pölten in 1903-1906.
Technique: oil on cardboard. Old silver wooden frame.
