Portrait of a beautiful bacchante was executed in 1848 by famous Austrian portrait and historical painter Friedrich Schilcher (1811 - Vienna - 1881). In the list of his paintings ( F.v. Boetticher, Malerwerke des 19. Jahrhunderts, V.2, Dresden 1901) on page 556 represanted another work by Schilcher as a pair to our work with the title " Satyr" in the same dimensions

Friedrich Schilcher (1811 - Vienna -1881 ) was an Austrian portrait and history painter.Friedrich Schilcher studied at the Vienna Academy. Between 1876 and 1878 he was president of the Vienna Künstlerhaus.
