Colourfully street scene in a oriental town (probably Cairo) was executed in the late 19th century, signed indistinctly and due to the fully identical style was attributed to the hand of famous German orientalist and architecture painter August Siegen (born 1850). He worked in Vienna and Munich and recieved acknowledge for his architecture views of coast cities (Venice, Amsterdam and others) and oriental city views (Cairo, Istambul). It΄s known, that the artist signed his works with different pseudonyms.
