Original Art Nouveau bronze relief  “Composer  Franz Schubert accompanies young singers on the piano”  was executed 1900s-1910s  created between 1900 -1920s by renowed american-austrian sculptor and medailleur Hans Schaefer (1875 Sternberg/Mähren - 1933 Chicago/USA). The sculptor studied by M: Marschall and Stefan Schwartz in Vienna. After WWI emigrated to USA and was active in Chicago and New York. Works by him situated in : State Collection Vienna (figures of Erzherzog Ferdinand Karl and Erzherzog Rainer and his wife); monument "Kaiser Franz-Josef" in Mährisch-Ostrau; National

Gallery in Budapest (King Karol I); Demetriade Monument in Galatz/Romania; portrait medalls.

Inscription: signed lower right, memory gift bronze plaque with inscription in German: Seinem Vorstand Professor Otto Dobrowolny zum 70. Geburtstag. 22 September 1956, Der Wiener Schubertbund ( in English: To its chairman Professor Otto Dobrowolny on his 70th birthday., 22.09.1956. The Vienna Schubert Association).

Technique: relief and plaque: bronze, brown patina, mounted on wood panel.

Measurements:  only round relief , diameter 10 7/8" (27,5cm), full 13 3/4 x 16 1/8"(35 x 41 cm)
