Study of parrot, this extremely rare original drawing from 18th century was executed by an Italian painter , under image is inscription with title in Italian ( in English translation: Parrot, American Parakeet, all green, long tail). Probably, it was executed by an Italian priest (Abbate) Lorenzo Lorenzi, whose watercolours with various birds were used as templates by famous Italian physician, ornithologist and botanist Saverio Manetti (1723 - 1784 Florence) for his Monumental Natural History of Birds in 5 volumes with 600 engravings.
