Lovely portrait of mother and her daughter was executed around 1890-1900 by famous Austrian genre and portrait painter Carl Fröschl (1848 - Vienna - 1934).
Carl Fröschl studied from 1864 to 1869 at the Vienna Art Academy and from 1870 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich under Wilhelm von Diez. In Munich he was influenced by Wilhelm von Kaulbach. He spent the winter months of 1874/75 and 1875/76 in Italy, where he visited Rome and the Riviera. From 1883 he worked as a freelance portrait and genre painter in Vienna. He mainly painted portraits of women and children, as well as landscapes. His works appeared in the magazine "Die Gartenlaube".
