Art Nouveau symbolistic watercolour with a beauty  in ancient dress , walking on the cypress allee , was executed in 1916 by renown German painter and illustrator Hermann Prell (1854 Leipzig - 1922 Dresden-Loschwitz). The artist worked in Rome, Berlin , Dresden and was known as genre painter, illustrator and sculptor. The watercolour was purchased by Sothebys auction "From German Castles", October 9-14 .2000, Lot number 1129.

Inscription: signed and dated 1916 lower right, on the reverse - label with stamp of an noble estate and inventory number. 

Technique: watercolour on paper, laid down on card board. . Luxuriousy antique gold-plated and partly hand-crafted frame .

Measurements: unframed w. 12 1/3" x h. 17 1/2" (31,5 x 44,5 cm), matted and framed w 21 1/4 " x h 26 1/3" (54 x 67 cm).

Condition: in good condition.
