Still life with Sevres porcelain tea service, flowers in a copper vase and old casket Was executed by Ignaz Schönbrunner (1871 Vienna - 1963 Wiener Neustadt). The artist came from a family of painters. He was the son of the painter Ignaz Schönbrunner (1835–1921), hence called the Younger, and attended the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. In addition to portraits and landscapes, he mainly painted still lifes with dishes and flowers. The painters Josef (1831–1905), Karl (1832–1877) and Franz Xaver Schönbrunner (1845–1903) were his uncles. The painter Johann Schönbrunner was his grandfather. Franz Anton Coufal (1927–1999), an Austrian sculptor and graphic artist, was one of his students from 1949 to 1953.
Schönbrunner married Helene Emma Antonia (née Roux; April 3, 1872 – January 26, 1936) in 1895, with whom he had a daughter. The academic painter Anton Joseph Valentin Roux (1835–1901) and his wife Emma (née Nicolits; 1846–1880) were his parents-in-law. The animal painter Oswald Roux was a cousin of his wife.
