A pair of romantically sunset coastal views around Naples was executed by French listed painter Sophie Vincent-Calbris ( 1822 Rouen - 1859 Lille). She is the daughter of Michel Guillaume Contest Calbris and Marie Hulse. Pupil of Hippolyte Bellangé and Paul Renouard, she worked with Jean-Charles-Joseph Rémond.She sent her works to the Salon in Paris from 1853 to 1857 and also exhibited in Bordeaux, Boulogne-sur-Mer, Rouen and Cambrai, where she obtained a first class medal.During the same period, she worked at the Louvre and was responsible for copying master paintings.She moved to Lille in 1854 and stood out as a landscape painter. On September 27, 1855, she married Charles Vincent, head of division at the prefecture of Lille, secretary of the historical commission and member of the French Society for the Conservation of Historic Monuments. upil of Hippolyte Bellangé and Paul Renouard, she worked with Jean-Charles-Joseph Rémond. She sent her works to the Salon in Paris from 1853 to 1857 and also exhibited in Bordeaux, Boulogne-sur-Mer.She died on February 6, 1859, rue Esquermoise in Lille following a childbirth, after the birth of her only child, Carlos Émile Vincent.
