Masterfully dog painting by good-listed German animal artist Friedrich Ferdinand Schmalzigaug (1847 friedrichshafen on Bodensee - 1902 munich). The artist was popular for his animalistic works, studied at the Fine arts Academy in Munich by karl von Piloty. Works by him situated in the Munich City Museum (Maillinger Collection).
