Portrait of a noble child, probably futured Austrian empress Maria Theresia (to comparison see "Maria Theresia and her time", exhibition cataloque, 13.05-26.10.1980, Vienna, Schoenbrunn, s.26-27 ). The master piece created in 18 century and due to the style, composition similarity and comparison with famous "Portrait of Princess Augusta von Sachsen as child" by the same author , situated in the Dresden Gallery (see additional photo) was attributed with large probability to the hand of important Dresden court portrait artist of 18th century Johann Heinrich Schmidt (1749 Hildburghausen - 1819 Dresden). Pupil ofhis father painter Johann Thomas Schmidt , later studied in Paris Academy Royal, then in Turin, where he painted wife of Count Artois, futured King Karl X). Since 1775 - court painter in Dresden. Travelled to Praque, Berlin,Vienna, Kurlandia, Livlandia, St.Petersburg (1784-1785), Paris (where he painted portrait of Napoleon). His works situated in the public estates: Hohenzollern Museum, Berlin; Dresden Gallery , museums of Bergen, Leipzig, Mainz, Vienna , in the estate of Royal house of Saxony and different saxonian castles.
