Masterfull portrait of an austrian lady in interior , created in 1830s and attributed to famous austrian genre and portrait artist Johann Michael Neder (1807 -Vienna-1882).
There are old wood plaque on the frame and old inscription probably by the artist in german on the back of wood : "Grandmother of Mrs.Therese Duport, Neumann (father line), J.M. Neder".
Neder, Johann Michael, * 29. 4. 1807 Oberdoebling (Vienna) - 30. 8. 1882 Vienna. Son of a shoemaker, after his study at the Viennese academy from shortage of money and from doubt about the own artistic abilities until 1834 as shoemakers actively; one induced by F. Gauermann again to painting, was one of the first people painters and haven guessingist of the rurally smallcivil environment, developed his mark way to a naively seeming realism.
