Nightly marine painting with fishing boats at the sea coast was executed in the Modernism style by Vladimir Evgenievich Zebek (Ukrainian: Зебек Володымир Евгенович), born in 1931, Nikolaev – died in 2015 Kinburn Spit by Ochakov). Не was a Soviet and Ukrainian marine artist, one of the most famous and significant marine artists of the second half of the 20th century.
Vladimir Zebek was born in May 1931 in Nikolaev.
In 1943 he was sent to forced labor in Germany. After the war he returned to Nikolaev.. After the war, he worked as an artist-designer in Crimea and on the Riga seaside. After graduating from MAHU (the Moscow Art and Pedagogical College) he worked for some time in Zagorsk and Moscow. In 1966, despite the brilliant career prospects that opened up before him, the reclusive artist moved to live on the Kinburn Spit, near the city of Ochakov.
