Modernist Venice painting with view of Island San Giorgio Maggiore was executed in 1968 by Austrian painter Gerhard Wachtl, probably is identical with listed painter  Gerhard Wacht , born 1928, who worked in Vienna around 1960s.

Inscription: signed and dated (19)68, lower right; on the back of the stretcher - inscribed  title in Italian and with name  of the artist in German : Isola S.Giorgio Maggiore, Venezia. Gerhard Wachtl, Wien.

Technique: oil on canvas, framed.

Measurements: unframed w 31 1/2" x h 15 1/2"(80 x 39,5 cm), framed 32 3/4" x 17 1/8" (83 x 43,5 cm).

Condition: good original condition.
