This is the pair to the previous item No. 6881. Despite the absence of a signature, this nude has all the criteria to be attributed to a hand of Modernism painter Richard Durando-Togo (born in 1910 in Buenos Aires). For comparison see our item No. 5250. He was a painter of Argentine origin who spent most of his life in Italy and espessionaly in South France where he settled permanently in 1934.
In 1968, Richard received the International Grand Prize for Painting. He is a self-taught artist with a very personal style, a painting of light and shadow that are often juxtaposed blonde and brown to create an atmosphere of mystery. The Richards "Nudes“ are not shock to the eye, which retains only refinement and elegance. He was a prolific painter who created oil paintings of gypsy dances and musical scenes, market scenes, portraits of women with hats, nudes and brightly painted still lifes.
Richard´s works are in collections in France, Italy, England, the United States, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.
