This rare portrait miniature of a young lady dressed as a Tyrolian hunter was executed ca. 1840 by the renowed Austrian portrait and miniature painter Adolf Theer (1811-1868). Brother of ánother Austrian miniature painters Robert and Albert Theer, the artist studied at the Vienna Academy and began exhibiting in 1832.

Technique: gouache on ivory. Original brass frame, later mounted in wood frame.
