Masterfully cityscape (Odeonsplatz in Munich) was executed by German cityscape and landscape painter Detlef Nitschke (born 1935 in Berlin).
The artist Detlev Nitsche became known for his very versatile outdoor paintings in the form of vedute and landscape paintings. He was born in Berlin in 1935. After successfully training as a lithographer, he studied art at the Master School for Printing and Graphics, which he completed with a diploma. The painter opened his own studio in his mid-30s after several years of successful work as head of design and managing director in a graphic design company. He has held numerous solo exhibitions to date and his works are also part of many group exhibitions in Europe and the USA. His painting style is strongly influenced by the American art movement of Impressionism, this art movement also had influences from French Impressionists and Nitschke was part of this change in which painted pictures no longer looked like silent paintings. On his travels through Europe and Russia, among other places, Detlev Nitschke gathered inspiration for his lively works. In general, his artistic focus is on attention to detail and the liveliness of the scenery. His works have a certain dynamism and play with light and expressive colors.
