This  coastal scene  in southern Italy was executed in 1858 by a German or Austrian Romanticist, dated in German: 15 Mai (18)58.

Inscription: unsigned, dated 18 Mai 1858, lower right.

Technique: oil on paper, laid down on canvas, original period gold-plated frame.

Measurements: unframed 16 7/8" x 12" (43 x 30,5 cm), framed 22 1/4" x 17 1/3" (56,5 x 44 cm).

Condition: good, professionally cleaned.
