Still life with Chinese antiques was executed in the early 20th century by good listed Austrian Still life painter of Czech origin Ernst Czernotzky (1869-1939).
Czernotzky began his painting apprenticeship privately in Brno with Emil Pirchan. After moving to Vienna in 1902, he continued his studies at the private painting and drawing school of David Kohn (1861–1922). He made several study trips to Germany, Belgium, France, Holland, Denmark and Italy. From 1911 he was a member of the Austrian Artists' Association. Czernotzky devoted himself almost exclusively to still life painting based on Dutch models. His specialty was still lifes with antiques such as glasses, tankards, jugs and goblets.
