Masterfully horse painting was executed in the turn of 20th century by famous Austrian animal and horse painter Hans (Johann) Haag,  born in 1841 in Vienna (died 1919). He worked in the studio of Ajdukiewicz, where he dedicated himself to the portarit and horse painting. The artist was popular for his rider portraits of Austrian high society, among other for portraits of Erzherzog Franz Fredinand and Kronprinz Rudolf, as well as for the racehorses.
