Rare genre scene with oriental schoemakers was executed around 1920s and due to the similar manner and motive was attributed to the hand of genre, Landschaft and Orient painter Franz Kienmayer (1886-1963). The German-Austrian figure and landscape painter Franz Kienmayer was born in Vienna and worked in Vienna, Predlitz, Graz and finally in Leipzig and Baden-Baden. He travelled to Italy and Orient. In 1937 he exhibited at the great German art exhibition in Munich.
