Great still life with bronze sculpture of Mozart, sheet music, violin and bow was executed in 1899 by listed French sculptor, painter and graphic artist Louis Prost ( 1876 - Lyon - 1945). His paintings are rare on the art market. We found only one: still life with grapes , sold in auction house Malval in 2005. Son of Etienne Nicolas, sculptor, and Clotilde Antoinette JACOB, Louis François PROST, was born in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon on 04/07/1876 and domiciled at 56 rue Franklin in Lyon. Single, he died on 03/14/1945 in the 3rd arrondissement of Lyon. Prix de Rome, professor at the National School of Fine Arts of Lyon, he was a member of the historical, archaeological and literary society of Lyon from 1932 to 1945 and of the Academy of Sciences, Belles lettres and Arts of Lyon from 1935 to 1945. Studied at: Ecole de La Salle, Ecoles des Beaux-Arts of Lyon, then Paris (student of Ch. Dufraine) Painter, sculptor-statuary, professor at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Lyon.
