Belle Epoque genre scene was executed by Jules Frédéric Ballavoine, French painter, draftsman (1844 - Paris - 1914). First, technical Illustrator. Student: EcBA under Pils. Then nature studies. Fought in German-French War. Member: Soc. des artistes franç.; Soc. Taylor; Soc. libre. Award: 1880 Med. 3rd class for La Séance interrompue. – Created portrait. (including portrait of the artist, pencil, 1869), landscapes, genre and historical scenes as well as nudes (including The Dream, 1872). In 1877 he attracted attention with his painting The Joys of Summer.
