Der Kampf war zu ungleich als dass er zu Günsten Spee's hätte endigen können; Sturdee ( vice-admiral) besass auf beiden Schlachkreuzern Kanonen zu 30.5 cm, Spee zu 21 cm, daher der, peindliche Vorteil, ebenso die Schnelligkeit 26:20 Seemeilen”

The fight was too unequal to end in Spee's favor; Sturdee (vice-admiral) had 30.5 cm cannons on both battle cruisers and Spee 21 cm, hence the embarrassing advantage, as well as the speed of 26:20 nautical miles.

Inscriptions: signed and dated A.(?) Orth VI. 1923 and a few ink inscriptions in German: above the image (vertical) with names of ships and under the image with description of the battle.
Technique: gouache, watercolour on paper, framed.
Meadurements: unframed, only image (38 x 29 cm), framed (42 x 32 cm).
Condition: overall good, repaired tear (3 cm) on the right edge of the image.
