Rare ethnographic genre painting: Szekely village festival in Transylvania, it was executed in 1937 by famous Hungarian painter, ethnographer and historian Rezso Haaz (1883 Szepesbéla (SpisskáBelá), North Hungary (now Slovakia) - 1958).
The Szeklers (Hungarian singular székely, Romanian secui) are a population group in eastern Transylvania in central Romania who speak the Hungarian Szekler dialect. Famous Ethnographic Museum of Szekely ethnic group, founded by Haaz ( Haáz Rezső Múzeum) is located in Székelyudvarhely in Transylvania/Romania.
