Masterfully Classicism portrait of a young gentleman was painted by Henri Nicolas van Gorp or Vangorp (1756 - after 1819), famous portrait and miniature painter in Paris between 18th and 19th centuries , he studied by Boilly, from 1793 to 1819 regular exhibited his works by the Paris Salon. His portraits, miniatures were many time engraved by Ph.L.Debucourt, Ruotte, Masquelier and Launay. His works situated in the Museum of Rouen and Museum of St.Omer
