Rare watercolour with neapolitan family and Vesuv on the back ground , created in 1839 by important german romanticist Hermann (Johann Hermann) Kretzschmer (1811 Anklam -1890 Berlin). Identical oil by Kretzmer, dated 1842  was sold  by Sotheby´s New York on 8.03.2203 for 19500 USD.

Kretzschmer came 1829 to Berlin, where studied by William Wach  and in 1831 to Duesseldorf. In 1838 he went to Rome and visited 1840 and 1841 Sicilies, Greece, Egypt and Konstantinopel. 1842 he returned to Duesseldorf, however 1845 moved to Berlin. He received the descriptor professor in  1856. Kretzschmer maintained the Genre  in his furthest relations from the historical to the humoristic; he understands it to arrange his canvases  poetic. Also he painted scenes from the eastern and italian  life as well as portraits. His  mainworks are: Rotkaeppchen (1833), Aschenbroedel (1836), The Breakfast in the Desert, The Caravan in the Samum (museum in Leipzig), the Embarkation (castle  Babelsberg), The Return of the Pilgerkarawane, The Landing of the Great Prince  to ruegen, The First  Travel  of the Page Seydlitz with the Mark Count von Schwedt,  Black man come . He  also erased: From the life of a child (after Reinickes poem) and Ammonium (after Freiligrath) Kreusa, 1) Daughter of the Erechtheus, wife of the Xuthos nut/mother of the Achaios and Jon. -2) Daughter of the Priainos and the Hekuba, wife of the Aeneas and nut/mother of the Ascanius. 3) (Glanke) daughter of the king Kreon of Korinth, got engaged the Jason, a garb poisoned of the jealous Medea by was killed.
