this impressionistic Venice painting was executed by listed Italian painter Luigi Gasparini (Zenson di Piave, Treviso, 1856 – Venezia, 1926).

Among the large group of painters who came out of the Treviso school Pompeo Molmenti (and what names: Luigi Nono, Giacomo Favretto, Tranquillo Cremona, Ettore Tito) there is also Luigi Gasparini. Born in Zenson di Piave (Treviso) in 1856, Gasparini is a little known painter (perhaps because his artistic production was probably limited).

He executed paintings with genre scenes in Favrettian and Venetian taste, in which - writes the Comanducci dictionary - "we note the sentiment and analysis of human characters". The same dictionary recalls that in the Baptistery of Vedelago there are decorations that prove his ability also in this branch of art.

He was also a portraitist. Civic museums of the Veneto, such as that of Castelfranco, preserve works by Gasparini. He died in Venice.
