Portrait of a young nobleman was executed c. 1810-1820 in very close manner to portraits of famous Lithuanian-Polish painter Józef Oleszkiewicz (Lithuanian: Juozapas Oleškevičius, Russian: Юзеф Иванович Олешкевич ( 1777, in Šiluva – 1830 in Saint Petersburg ). He was known primarily for his portraits and his eccentric behavior.

Inscription: unsigned, on the back is remainder of the old memory inscription with the name of the artist.
Technique: oil on canvas. Antique wood frame. Dimensions: unframed w 15 1/8” x h 18 3/4” (38,5 x 47,5 5cm,) framed w 21 1/4” x h 24” (54 x 61 cm).
Condition: in good condition, original canvas was relined.
