Forest landscape with bathing children Was executed by good listed German landscape painter Carl Ebert ( 1821 in Stuttgart - 1885 in Munich).
After the early death of his parents, his relatives made it possible for him to study at the Königliche Kunstschule Stuttgart with Gottlob Friedrich Steinkopf and Johann Friedrich Dieterich.
In 1846 he came to Munich, where he became a private student of Eduard Schleich the Elder and often visited the Munich Pinakothek to study works by Dutch masters.
With Friedrich Salzer and Richard Zimmermann he visited the painters´ colonies of Polling and Eberfing. Since then he has devoted himself exclusively to landscape painting, especially forest landscapes.
He attended the Paris World Fairs in 1855 and 1867, where he was influenced by the Barbizon School.
Together with Eduard Schleich the Elder and Carl Morgenstern, he undertook study trips to France, Belgium and Holland. In 1857 and 1872 he visited Italy. In 1881 he spent several months in Bosnia.
He received a state pension from King Ludwig II of Bavaria and was awarded the Knight´s Cross of the Order of the Crown by King Karl of Württemberg.
