Genre scene in the park was executed by Belgian painter Thèodore Cériez (1832 Poperinge - 1904 Ypres). He studied: 1848-51 Art Academy in Ypres with Désiré Böhm; until 1854 Academy in Antwerp; Pupil of Jean Baptiste Fauvelet. Based in Paris until 1862. conn. back in Ypres, from 1873 teacher, 1891-98 director of the Art Academy. . – Under the influence of Fauvelet, C. Painted bourgeois Genres from the time of Louis XV, after 1870 also with contemporary motifs.
