Romantic Italian landscape with ancient ruins (probably in Tuscany or Campagna near Rome) was executed by listed Italian landscape painter Guido Agostini, who active between 1850s -1890s.
He studied at the Fine Art Academy in Genoa, where he exhibited his paintings at exhibitions of Firenze da Rovezzano. The following regularly participates in the exhibitions of the Society Promotrici di Academia in Florence and Genoa. by A. are about 35 with "G. Agostini " sign. and partly dat. According to (oil on cardboard, wood or slate, sometimes oval) on the art market and in Priv.-Collections with Late romantically landscapes and Vedute from Tuscany (Val d´elsa, Valdarno, Chianti, Maremma) with individual homesteads or forts (Castello di Verruca, 1874) and city Views (Firenze Veduta da Monte Massy, 1881, oval; Certaldo Livorno Poppi), but also from Liguria and Ital. Cities such as Venice and Rome (Veduta di Castel S. Angelo). He found further motifs on his travels to Corsica, Switzerland and through the Alps (the Matterhorn, 1886).
