Masterfully watercolour ( one of 4 , for other see 3 previous items) with young shepherdess with sheep and chicken in country landscape was executed by Viennese painter, illustrator and graphic artist from Art Nouveau time Richard Kratky ( 1877 - Vienna - 1944). He worked in a painting studio from 1892 to 1895 and at the same time attended the Imperial and Royal Institute of Photography and Reproduction. His education at the Viennese academy of the fine arts (1895-99 with J. V. Berger and graphic 1899-1904 with W. Unger) K. graduated in 1906 with the teacher examination for secondary schools (freehand drawing)and was 1905-07 at the Staats-Oberrealschule Vienna XV., from December 1907 until retirement in 1923 in the railway service. 1903-07 K., who also painted pastels, entered with two-color etchings, mainly Wr. Motifs, on Ausst. later he turned more to watercolor painting (landscapes from the Tauern, from the Vienna Woods).
