Masterfullly watercolour with cossack cavalry was executed by famous Russian painter Ivan Petrovitch Prjanischnikov (1841-1909). Landscape painter and author of military scenes. Studied at the Paris Academy, lived in Paris, participated in the Salon de Paris. He was especially famous for his scenes from Russian military life and battle scenes. He was engaged in book illustration, worked a lot in watercolour technique. Exhibited at the academic exhibitions St.Petersburg (1884), Odessa (1886), Charkov and Ekaterinburg ( both 1887). Drawing by the artist reproduced in th famous magazine " Niva". Works by Prjanischnikov are in several Russian museums.
