Far view of Munich from the southwest was executed by listed German landscape painter from Wasserburg in upper Bavaria. The artist worked in the first half of 19th century in Bavaria and Hungary. His paintings are quite rare on the market; lexicon by Nagler mentions a panorama by him. A very similar, more larger-sized view of Munich was estimated for € 14,290 € at the sale of the Munich auction house Neumeister, sold it on 03/03/1997 (see our additional image for comparison).
