Large painting with Maria, Jesus child and St.John was executed ca. in 1870s - 1880s by good listed Austrian portrait, genre and nude painter Franz Russ II (1844 - 1906). Son of historical painter Franz Russ senior and brother of robert Russ. The artist studied at the Fine Arts Academy in Vienna under Christian Ruben and worked in Vienna and Paris. His romantical paintings with madonnas and oriental beauties recieved acknowledge among collectors in europe and USA.
