Beautiful allegoric sculpture was executed by famouis Czech sculptor Jan Drabek (b.1900, Moravia). The artist studied at Prague Academy (1924-29) under Stursa and Kafka, later worked there in the end of 1920s-1930s.

Technique: carrara marble, original wooden base.
Measurements: h with base 18" (46 cm), base w 20 1/2" x d 7" (52 x 18 cm)
Condition: in fairly good condition, cracs of marble on both left feets of the panther (see photo), insignificant chip on tip of the ear of the panther, otherwise good original condition. Two undeep cracks to the left and to the right of the figure on the wooden base due to age (see photos). |
