Pastoral landscape with shepherdess and her flock was executed in 1852 by good listed French landscape painter Theodore Richard (1782 Millau - 1859 Toulouse ). Théodore Richard was the son of Pierre-Jacques Richard and his wife, née Marie-Rose de Lavit, pupil of Jean-Marie-Joseph Ingres and Bertin. Théodore Richard was active in Paris and Toulouse. He is the adoptive father of the painter Jacques Raymond Brascassat. Richard built the castle of Roquebelles in the town of Creissels.
