Appetizing still life with drinks, snacks, hunting horn and newspaper was executed by Austrian painter Josef Mansfeld (1819 - Vienna - 1894). He was painter of genre scenes, portraits and still lifes. Mansfeld specialised in still lifes composed of fruit, bottles of wine, Bavarian tankards and delicately crafted glass drinking vessels (rohmer). Josef Mansfeld was grandson of the engraver Joseph Georg Mansfeld .Studied from 1833 at the Academy of Fine Arts and can be detected with paintings in exhibitions from 1845th From this period his oil painting " consolation of a blind " and " Abendruhe ", ( both 1845 ) , " The Chess Player " ( 1847) and " A council of war in 1848 " (1849 ; all Historical Museum ) ; In 1852 he painted " The old couple " .
