Pedro Alexandrine Irureta y Artola (Tolosa 1854 - San Sebastián 1912) held the position of professor of artistic drawing by opposition at the School of Arts and Crafts in San Sebastian and won a third medal at a National Exhibition. Within his pictorial production, a "Christ erecting St. Peter at the head of the Church" made for a church altar stands out; "The good administration distributing its gifts, surrounded by the Industry and other attributes", for one of the roofs of the Guipúzcoa Provincial Council, as well as "La Ondina" and "The Carnival in Rome" (Handwritten biographical note of the artist, 1907; Archive of the Prado Museum, MAM Fund, in Gutiérrez Márquez, A .: History of the Museum of Modern Art, 1898-1971, Museo Nacional del Prado, 2018, p. 271).
