Very fine sunset forest landscape with deers was executed by important German hunting and landscape painter Julius Arthur Thiele (1841 Dresden - 1919 Hohenschäftlarn by Munich). He studied in 1856-1860 at the Dresden Academy under Ludwig Richter and Julius Hübner, and in 1861-1864 in Munich and Duesseldorf (by Christian Kröner). Thiele married in 1882 and moved to Vienna, and a few years later he moved to Munich, where he spent the rest of his life. He was a member of the Munich Artists´ Cooperative.
His works are in the public collections of Altenburg Museum, City Museum in Braunschweig, Dresden Modern Gallery, Kaiser-Friedrich Museum and State collection in ,Nuernberg and Vienna National Gallery.
