This altar triptych with madonna and child and angels was created and framed in Florence in the second half of 19th century by an Italian follower of famous early Renaissance painter Fra Angelico (1395 - 1455). Fra Angelico was born in Florence, between 1420 and 1422 he entered a monastery the San Domenico at Fiesole. He painted altarpieces and manuscripts. Linaiuoli Altarpiece, a triptych enclosed in a marble shrine, was an early masterpiece, but he went on to paint famous frescoes at the monastery of San Marco in Florence and a chapel in the Vatican. He died in 1455 .

Technique: oil and gold on wood. Original period hand-crafted and gold-plated wood frame.
Measurements: full with opened wings w. 20 1/8" x h. 27 1/8" ( 51 x 69 cm), with closed wings w. 12" x h. 27 1/8" ( 30,5 x 69 cm).
