Large romantic Alpine landscape with house and peasants was executed in 1862 by good listed Austrian landscape painter Dominik Schufried (1810 Vienna 1877). The artist was from a well-known Viennese artist family. He studied until 1829 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. He mainly painted motifs from the Vorarlberg, preferably from the surroundings of Schloss Gutenstein near Vienna. His landscapes he exhibited first (from 1838) in the annual exhibition in the gallery of St. Anna and from 1852 in the monthly exhibitions of the Austrian Kunstverein in Vienna.
