Small but very fine portrait of a young beauty was executed in the late 19th century by French painter Emile Renard (1850 - 1930).

Emile Henri Renard born October 5th, 1830 in Sevres and started his career by painting porcelain in the factory where many of his relatives worked. He was a student of Masters such as Cabanel and Cesar de Cock. He was awarded the Medailles; third class 1876; second class, 1889; Medailles Argentine, 1889; Chevalier de la Legion de honneur, 1895; Medaille d’honneur, 1915; Prix de Bonnat, 1924.
