Genre painting by Hans Gustav Dittenberger von Dittenberg (1794 Baden - 1879 Moscow). He studied in Heidelberg under Rottmann and Roux, then in 1821 went to Munich and later studied in Paris under Gros. In 1831 he lived and worked in Rome, 1836-50 in Vienna and in the 1860s in Moscow (Russia) In 1861 in Russia Dittenberg began a large painting "Alexander II as Liberator".
