This Classicism painting was executed in the first quarter of 19th Century and depicts Portrait of a nobleman with symbols of the time transience: pocket watch, written short poetic philosophic inscription and the figure of the God Chronos behind the portrayed person. Due to the close stilistic and composition similarities it was executed by a artist from the circle of Johann Baptist Lampi senior (1751-1830), probably, by Barbara Krafft (1764-1825) or Carl von Sales (1791-1870).
